Overview
To design and develop a user-friendly, secure IoT platform that empowers users to effectively manage their indoor and outdoor lighting systems, optimize energy consumption, enhance security, and simplify maintenance, ultimately leading to increased user satisfaction, operational cost savings, and a competitive edge for Davista in the IoT lighting market.
Project Objectives
Davis IoT Platform will cover these features:

• Home automation platform provides remote control, scheduling, and personalization for residences.

• Building Management Systems (BMS) provides central control and energy optimization in commercial buildings

• Industrial IoT (IIoT) platforms serve factories and warehouses, focusing on efficiency, safety, and productivity.

Target Audience/ User Groups
The Davista IoT platform caters to a diverse ecosystem of users, each with unique needs and goals. Facility managers seek optimized lighting systems and reduced energy costs across large spaces. Property owners aim to attract tenants with energy-efficient features and a secure environment while maximizing property value. Building maintenance staff utilize it for remote issue identification, faster repairs, and optimal system uptime.

Market Reseach

We have conducted a research across the market to identify the strengths and weaknesses,
what is lacking in the market, as well as to benchmark the IoT platform.

Most of the products in the market caters to both outdoor & indoor lighting
users, providing both indoor & outdoor solutions, with additional features like GIS view,
Dimming Profile setting, Device configuration, etc.  
User Journey
Davista IoT platform's super admin journey starts with onboarding and user management, followed by system configuration and real-time monitoring. They delve into security, maintenance, and advanced features, leveraging support and feedback channels.
Usability Test
We have conducted a usability test across the entire platform to evaluate the features, user flows, to ensure that the entire experience is smooth and seamless.

The usability test result will determine whether the journey that we have crafted are working as how it should be, on top of that also pointing out any usability issues, eg: Negative scenario pop up, missing screens, etc.
A/B Testing
Focusing on the conversion & task success rate, the team together with the testers will evaluate the options given and provide feedbacks from a user/ lighting expert's perspective.

Key Features

GIS View
A GIS (Geographic Information System) view in an IoT platform allows users to visualize and analyze sensor data, asset locations, and other geographically relevant information on a map interface. This empowers users to gain spatial insights and make informed decisions based on the physical context of their data.
Device Automation & Controls
This feature allows users to automate actions and control connected devices within the Davis IoT platform. This automation can be based on various triggers, schedules, or conditions, enabling remote management and enhanced efficiency.
Device Scheduling & Lux Setting
This feature allows users to schedule the operation and adjust light levels of connected lighting devices within the Davis IoT platform. This enables automated control over lighting based on specific needs and preferences, potentially optimizing energy usage, enhancing comfort, and improving ambiance.
Dimming Profile
This feature allows users to create and implement customized sequences of light level changes over time for connected lighting devices within the Davis IoT platform. This provides greater control over the dimming process, enabling dynamic lighting effects or mimicking natural light patterns.
Alert Management
The Alert Management feature within the Davis IoT platform empowers users to configure, receive, and manage notifications generated by connected devices or system events. This enables proactive monitoring and timely responses to potential issues or critical situations.
Dashboard and Monitoring
This feature provides users with a centralized interface to visualize, analyze, and interact with real-time and historical data collected from connected devices and the overall system within the Davis IoT platform. This empowers users to gain insights into system performance, identify potential issues, and make informed decisions.
